Pearson Partners CEO named to top leadership role to spur strategy, awareness, fundraising for blood cancer research.
(DALLAS, TX – July 1, 2019) — Keith Pearson, CEO of Pearson Partners International, has been elected 2019–2020 chairman of the board of trustees of the North Texas Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A longtime fundraiser, volunteer and member of the chapter’s Team in Training, he has served on the advisory board of the North Texas chapter since 2010, and has been elected vice chair of the board of trustees three times. In 2015, Pearson achieved second place in the organization’s North Texas Man of the Year contest, a philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research through individual fundraising in communities across the United States.
“Finding a cure for blood cancer is a personal and passionate mission for me,” Pearson says. “Witnessing these diseases’ horrific effects on a close friend and later, my wife’s grandmother, left a strong impression on me and has driven me to support finding a cure. We’ve made progress over the past decade that I’ve supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, but we’ve not found a cure yet so we must continue. About every three minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer, and about every nine minutes, a U.S. blood cancer patient dies.”
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds leading-edge research for every type of blood cancer, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other rare types of blood cancers. As the largest nonprofit funder of cutting-edge blood cancer research to advance cures, LLS has invested nearly $1.3 billion in cancer research since its origins in 1949, leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving patients’ lives.
