Misty A. Leon has practiced exclusively in the area of employee benefits and executive compensation since 2002. She has deep experience providing legal counsel to both public and private employers, as well as third party service providers, regarding various employee benefits and compensation matters. 

Ms. Leon’s experience includes designing and assisting with compliance issues faced by qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and health and welfare arrangements, such as regulatory concerns under HIPAA, COBRA, and PPACA.

Ms. Leon has also advised a number of governmental and tax-exempt entities, including large multiple employer public plans, regarding the compliance obligations applicable to Section 401(a), 403(b), and 457 plans and other plans and trusts sponsored by such entities. She regularly speaks and writes on a variety of employee benefit plan issues, including ERISA fiduciary issues and welfare plan compliance matters.
